Hello!
Born in Sydney, I obtained my Diploma in sculpture from the National Art School.
In 2014, after many years travelling and living in different countries I moved to the Drôme Provençale in the south of France. It is here that I have rediscovered the landscape and perfumes of my native Australia.
From my earliest years I have always looked after animals, and I have always done so, regardless of where I lived.
As a child my father would bring me back sick animals he had come across during his work as a travelling veterinary products salesman in the outback.

However, today it is my own animals that I use as inspiration. Some living, some long gone.
The dogs, cats, rams, horses and my parrot all exist with their own name and each has his own unique character. It is this uniqueness that I hope to give to my sculptures.
I am forever grateful to have known each and every one of them.
Burnished and pit fireing techniques.
My work is first modelled in stoneware followed by successive steps of burnishing and finally pit or barrel fired.
This ancient technique seems part of the natural elements. Earth, wind and fire lend themselves to representations of animals.
Depending on which clay I use and what surface I am aiming for I use truffle oak, olive and fruit tree branches.
Everything that burns goes in; old banana peels, coffee grounds and horse manure.
Each piece is unique and can never be repeated.
